A Stress Free Cooking Game! | Galaxy Burger Review
A stress-free cooking game is here, and it has multiplayer!

Sometimes you just need a silly game to play with friends. Waste a few hours serving up fast food for aliens and robots in Galaxy Burger as you planet-hop to make the most money. This goofy game is like one of those fun kitchen games that has you rushing to take and make orders before the customers leave.
After picking up the demo, I immediately wanted to get the full game. The saddest part about the demo is that it locks you out of the co-op mode, which is by far the best thing about the game. There is the usual making burgers and fries, but the more you play each planet, the more upgrades you get. From more grills and higher cooking temperatures, to a deep fryer with cheeseballs and shrimp, to even green drinks in the soda machine, this game keeps things going with each new upgrade. Each customer will have their own order that you will have to put together. The more you progress, the more complicated standard burger orders become. Luckily, you can click on the name of the burger to read the recipe. If the customer has any modifications, they will not show up in this screen, so make sure to check back with the original order for any of those. If you do forget to check back and make any changes, the customer may deduct points from your review if it was minor, or complain that this was not what they ordered if it was bad enough. One of the best things about this game is how you can see if you have already given your part of the order. The screens in front of the customers show all of the food that has been delivered, which is a godsend for large, complicated orders.
Normal customers have no time limit, so you can take as long as you want to get familiar with some of those complex orders. With so many options to create the burgers, with overcooking burgers, toasting buns and cheese, and multiple add-ons, the combinations are endless. Those Galactic combos are so hard to remember! But, as you progress, you will run into some customers with more of a personality. Some are a bit busy and need their food quickly and this is when you get put on a timer. Others might be a bit forgetful and once they get their fries, realize that they forgot to order their burger. These customers might order three times, but it will be one item at a time. Luckily, the devs wanted to create a stress-free game where players could tap into their childhood addiction to cooking games without the anxiety of a timer. Even if you mess up orders, the penalty is just a small deduction from your review, which doesn’t hurt you at all. It just means you have to play the level a little longer to get all those stars to fully unlock all the fun upgrades and modes.
This game can be enjoyed solo. I did that with the demo as my friend Amy and I streamed our solo playing to each other, but that only lasted a few rounds before we went ahead and grab the full game so we could try out the multiplayer. The addition of another person does not seem to increase the difficulty, which might make the early levels feel a bit slow, but that extra pair of hands was great the further we got into the game. There are spare cutting boards on certain levels to stack pre-cooked foods on, which is a lifesaver.
The first thing to spice up the levels is the introduction of special coupons that get unlocked at the 2nd star. These can give minor bonuses like only ordering fried foods, ordering burgers without meat, or the drink machine works faster. These work for one round only and cost relatively little. The second and third spice comes at the achievement of the third star. The first is the Endless Shift. Just like the name suggests, the flow of customers never ends, so it’s nothing but burgers and fries flying off the counter. If you want some of the stress that comes with this genre, you can try the Time Challenge mode. Here, customers will not only rate the food you deliver to them, but also the amount of time it take your to get that food to them. This shift also gives you a nice 300% bonus, so if you want a little boost to unlock that next planet, try this one.
This game is such a nice game. Granted, I never got addicted to it, but it is a great game for under $10! Having a group of friends to play this together is an amazing time, and if you are in a gap in games to play together, this is basically a must try! I would give this a 10/10 for what it is.
